In My Mailbox 5/2/11

In My Mailbox is the weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren where people showcase books they received for the week.

These I've actually received over the past couple of weeks from giveaways since I've been on a BBB (book-buying-ban.) BUT... I did order several from Amazon since I was pre-ordering Dead Reckoning, anyway. Yay I hope DR gets here soon!!

Anyway, here's what I got!

From I Am A Reader, Not A Writer. How cute is that cover!

Won from Fire and Ice. This was sent directly from Simon & Schuster and I don't think I've ever received a book directly from the publisher so fast!

Thanks to Jenny from Into The Morning Reads!

Review: Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

Title: Catching Fire
#2 of The Hunger Games Trilogy
Source: I bought my own copy.
Author: Suzanne Collins
Genre: YA, Dystopia
Synopsis from Goodreads
"Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark won the annual competition described in Hunger Games, but the aftermath leaves these victors with no sense of triumph. Instead, they have become the poster boys for a rebellion that they never planned to lead. That new, unwanted status puts them in the bull's-eye for merciless revenge by The Capitol."
 My Thoughts

I loved the Hunger Games and was very excited to read Catching Fire, and I was not disappointed. I loved it! I think I might actually have liked it more than the Hunger Games. There's a lot of action in this one, and a giant twist that I didn't see coming. It was a very fast read, too. I haven't had a lot of time to read, but I felt like I had just started it when it ended. I must warn it ends in a cliffhanger so I suggest having Mockingjay ready to read right away. I'm sooo glad I did! I definitely recommend!
