Review: Bloodfever by Karen Moning

Title: Bloodfever
Series: #2 of the Fever series
Author: Karen Marie Moning
Genre: Urban Fantasy, Paranormal
Buy it from Amazon: Bloodfever

Synopsis from Goodreads
"I used to think my sister and I were just two nice southern girls who'd get married in a few years and settle down to a quiet life. Then I discovered that Alina and I descend, not from good wholesome southern stock, but from an ancient Celtic bloodline of powerful sidhe-seers, people who can see the Fae. Not only can I see the terrifying otherworldly race, but I can sense the sacred Fae relics that hold the deadliest of their magic. When my sister was found dead in a trash-filled alley in Dublin, I came over to get answers. Now all I want is revenge. And after everything I've learned about myself, I know I have the power to get it....
MacKayla Lane's ordinary life underwent a complete makeover when she landed on Ireland's shores and was plunged into a world of deadly sorcery and ancient secrets.
In her fight to stay alive, Mac must find the Sinsar Dubh-a million-year-old book of the blackest magic imaginable, which holds the key to power over both the worlds of the Fae and of Man. Pursued by Fae assassins, surrounded by mysterious figures she knows she cannot trust, Mac finds herself torn between two deadly and irresistible men: V'lane, the insatiable Fae who can turn sensual arousal into an obsession for any woman, and the ever-inscrutable Jericho Barrons, a man as alluring as he is mysterious.
For centuries the shadowy realm of the Fae has coexisted with that of humans. Now the walls between the two are coming down, and Mac is the only thing that stands between them...."
My Thoughts:

(I have tried to leave out spoilers!)

Yet another great installment in the Fever Series!

MacKayla Lane is still in Dublin on the hunt for her sister's murderer, and she's more determined than ever now that she know who he is. We find out more about Fae in this one, and a little bit more about what it means to be a sidhe-seer, a person who is able to see fae under their glamour, and null, one who is able to sense Seelie and Unseelie relics among other things. She still works as Barrons OOP (object of power) detector and together they search for the Sinsar Dubh, an Unseelie relic capable of destroying the world, which her murdered sister, Alina, said to find in her dying message.

I loved this book, but I was a little disappointed there wasn't more action and we still don't know anything more about Barrons. I want to know what happens, damn it! Don't get me wrong, I'm really enjoying this series, I'm just getting impatient and want to know what happens. I might just be a little mad at myself because I don't have the third book yet. :( I'm going to go order it right now.

I would recommend this but only for adults!

My favorite quotes:
"Life is not black and white. The closest we ever get to either of those colors is wearing them."
  And..
"Question: When you're one of the few people who can do something to fix a problem, just how responsible does that make you for it?
Answer: It's how you chose to answer that question that defines you."
